August Newsletter

Dear Friends,

Welcome to our August newsletter.

At a time of the year where the Summer shows have finished and with a large number of the trade looking forward to their holiday breaks I must confess to having just enjoyed a few days break in the gorgeous Channel islands, celebrating my wife’s big birthday, we were treated to perfect weather and 5 star service in a stunning location.

As mentioned in Julys newsletter it has been quite a busy time for purchasing Japanese works of art previously supplied by ourselves, in fact the week prior to the Jersey trip I was once again in an airport lounge, this time travelling to Paris to meet a VIP client who was refining his collection and so disposing of some fantastic quality Japanese works that we had sold to him in the early days, as with many serious collectors we find that a natural progression occurs, where finance allows, coupled with the confidence and trust gained they aspire to own the best, thus much higher priced items generally replace some of the earlier purchases, as with most collections space can also become an issue, we are delighted to take back our previously supplied items when progressing a client’s collection to this next level.

You will see most if not all of these market fresh pieces featured on our website or in the members areas in the coming months.

You may recall at the start of this year I announced that sadly I would not be attending any of the usual shows this season whilst I concentrated on another new and exciting antiques related business, well I am pleased to say that we are on target for an autumn launch of this innovative new brand, a business built for fully accredited dealers to host their finest items to a discerning audience, further updates will follow shortly.

To stay up to date with the latest works of art and news from myself you can also follow me on Social Media. I regularly post the latest stock as it lists throughout the month on the website. You can find me on Facebook here and Instagram here, or click the relevant icons below.

Finally for now I have chosen to list one of the items retrieved from Paris in our members area for August, in fact a group of three Shakudo Koro’s all on their original carved hardwood stands from the highly acclaimed Nogawa company.

Best wishes
