As part of our Japanese works of art collection we are delighted to offer this exceptional quality Edo/ Meiji period shakudo tsuba of oval from, this striking example finely detailed in nanako ground depicts a school of fish upon bamboo, a most unusual combination , the fish formed from solid gold and shakudo, the tsuba carries a red collectors reference to one side and is part of a single owner collection that we are featuring on our gallery in the coming days, a delightful piece of mixed metal work from the golden era of Japanese metalworkers and sword smiths.
