As part of our Japanese works of art collection we are delighted to offer this heavy gauge fine quality pair of Meiji period 1868-1912 solid Silver Fruit bowls by the highly regarded Silversmith Eigyoku , these substantial heavy and stylish lozenge shaped dishes each stand upon four scrolling feet , the exterior skin finely detailed with Imperial Chrysanthemums carved in low relief , the ends of each bowl further shaped and reeded , the underside carries a Jungin Pure Silver mark as well as the artist signature , these fabulous bowls weigh an incredible 4,600gms , over 148 troy ounces , and have been in the same UK family since arriving here in the early 20th century, by repute having been a presentation gift upon retirement , and since stored in a suitcase for much of their life , a most gorgeous addition to your Japanese works of art or Silver collection .
