As part of our Japanese works of art collection we are delighted to offer this Edo period (1615-1868) circa: 1850 Japanese Ivory Netsuke depicting a Toad upon Bamboo shoots, the Toad naturalistically carved climbing upon a Bamboo shoot, the eyes of the Toad have been inlaid using Horn and finished with drilled out pupils, the artist has signed this Netsuke to the underside in a two character incised signature which translates to read ” Masatsugu” , a great addition to your Japanese Netsuke works of Art collection.
