As part of our Japanese works of art collection we are delighted to offer this large and fine quality Meiji period 1868-1912 , circa 1890 Ivory Okimono depicting a gorgeous Bijin attending to a Floral display, the well recorded Tokyo school artist “Dohaku” has captured this beauty posing in all her finery, her hair tied in immaculate fashion with multiple combs and floral ornaments, she stands clutching a Flower in one hand and a water bottle in the other , a further Floral display at her feet , her Obi tied in impeccable fashion to the rear of her well detailed Kimono, the full length gown decorated with Ho -o Birds ( Phoenix ) amidst native Flora , artist signed to the underside by Dohaku , a wonderful top shelf addition to your Okimono or Japanese works of art collection , and probably one of the last chances to acquire an Okimono of this importance in the UK , please do not miss the opportunity .
